LMS Pumpkin Decorating Contest!

Our annual Pumpkin Decorating Contest brought out incredible creativity and school spirit this year! Students truly embraced the fall season, transforming ordinary pumpkins into dazzling works of art inspired by the musical Wicked and the Netflix series Stranger Things. From magical emerald designs to eerie, otherworldly creations, each pumpkin reflected our students’ imagination and enthusiasm.

Undefeated Season & Tournament Champs!!

Huge congratulations to the Leonia Volleyball Team on an incredible, undefeated season — capped off with a championship win at the Bogota Tournament last night! The team’s hard work, teamwork, and determination paid off in the best way possible as they brought the trophy home to Leonia!
A special shoutout to team captains Michelle Anez and Madelyn Liu for their outstanding leadership and energy throughout the season. Way to go, Lions — what a phenomenal finish!

🌍 Global Connections in Social Studies!

8th graders in Mr. Muench’s Social Studies class recently connected with students from the Martin House School in Lusaka, Zambia — sparking an exciting international exchange! Through lively discussions, students shared insights about their current lessons, compared school cultures, and traded stories about their favorite activities and interests.

🚀 7th Graders Attend NASA Guest Speaker!

On October 27, students in Mrs. Alia and Mr. Sassi’s science literacy classes had a stellar experience when Richard DeFabio, a volunteer with NASA’s Solar System Ambassador Program, visited Leonia Middle School.

Mr. DeFabio shared the latest milestones and jaw-dropping discoveries from NASA missions, giving students a firsthand glimpse into the exciting world of space exploration and STEM in action. His presentation sparked curiosity, inspired future scientists, and reminded us that the sky is not the limit!

Spreading Kindness, One Act at a Time! 💛🦁

In celebration of World Kindness Day, a few of our Lions and Cubs took on the challenge of making the world a little brighter! Each student selected an act of kindness to complete and reflected on how their small gesture made a big difference. Their compassionate spirits and thoughtful reflections didn’t go unnoticed—they were treated to a sweet surprise as a thank-you for sharing kindness across our pride! 🌟

A R.I.S.E. Recipient is an LMS Lion or Cub who is acknowledged by their team of teachers as hard-working and someone who rises above academic challenges.
