LMS Halloween Guidelines & Fall Spirit Week

Posted Date: 10/10/25 (11:45 AM)

Dear LMS Families,

This year, Halloween falls on a Friday, and the LMS Student Council has included costumes as part of our annual Fall Spirit Week, scheduled for Monday, October 27 through Friday, October 31.

Although this is an instructional week and we do not host classroom parties, we are happy to provide students with the opportunity to enjoy the festive nature of the season. Participation in Spirit Week is optional — students may choose to join in on all or some of the daily themes. These Student Council–sponsored activities are a great way for students to demonstrate school spirit and unity.

As always, the LMS Dress Code applies throughout the week. Dress code details are available in the Student Handbook, and the following additional guidelines will apply to Halloween costumes:

  1. Dress Code Compliance: Costumes that do not meet our regular dress code standards will require a parent to bring in a change of clothes.
  2. Masks and Headwear: Full face masks and distracting costume hats or headwear are not permitted. These items will be confiscated and may be picked up at the end of the day.
  3. Weapons or Replicas: Real or replica knives, swords, pistols, rifles, light sabers, or any simulated weapons are strictly prohibited. These items will be confiscated (and not returned), and disciplinary consequences will follow.
Adhering to these guidelines helps minimize distraction while allowing students’ creativity and Halloween spirit to shine.

LMS Fall Spirit Week Themes:
  • Monday, October 27: Pajama Day – Wear your PJs or comfy clothes.
  • Tuesday, October 28: Teachers/Students Switch – Students dress like teachers, and teachers dress like students.
  • Wednesday, October 29: Fall Colors – Show off the colors of the season.
  • Thursday, October 30: Team Day – Represent your favorite sports team.
  • Friday, October 31: Halloween – Wear your Halloween costume to school.
Please take a moment to review these activities and guidelines with your child prior to Spirit Week. If you have any questions about the events or costume expectations, please feel free to contact me or Ms. King.

With Lion Pride,
